Reflecting on inspiring days at the SustainableIT Impact Awards & Symposium 2024 in Austin, where Denominator was honored in the social category. The recognition received coverage from multiple media outlets, including Morningstar.
1. SustainableIT Impact Awards
Last week, our CEO Anders Rodenberg, and Emma Helbo, Head of External Relations & Communication, were in Austin, Texas, to accept the recognition for Denominator’s efforts toward a more socially sustainable future, alongside leading organizations.
It was an inspiring event, filled with outstanding professionals and meaningful conversations.
As Anders Rodenberg, CEO of Denominator, expressed during the award ceremony:
“The common denominator of everything is people. That’s why I would like to thank everyone in this room for contributing to a more sustainable future, SustainableIT for bringing us all together, and, of course, the great employees at Denominator for making this possible.”
2. SustainableIT Symposium
Denominator also took part in the Symposium, joining a panel discussion on ‘Power Partnerships: Profiles in Collaborative Sustainability’ alongside Alex Hertberg, CEO at Superna, Bryan Muehlberger, CIO at Lumiyo, and Shaina Shikoff, Sustainability Go-to-Market Lead North America at Celonis.
During the panel, Denominator emphasized the importance of prioritizing the social dimensions of sustainability, highlighting their strong connection to environmental outcomes.
“It is very important to have regulations on emissions, scope 3, and an understanding of energy consumption. However, since you need to consider all of that, it is equally important to look at the social side at the same time. Ten years ago, it was difficult to overlay additional metadata, but today technology makes this much easier. […] Tangible examples from many large multinationals demonstrate this approach, not just considering their mission in the supply chain, but also evaluating the impact from their diversity perspective.” – Anders Rodenberg, CEO of Denominator
The discussion also explored the significant opportunity for technology and data to secure a seat on the table at the sustainability discussion.
“When it comes to sustainability, companies can pursue it because it is the right thing to do or out of economic interest. Many of these decisions are fueled by technology and data insights. This means that going forward, it’s tech leaders, the CIO, the CTO, who will make a significant difference. This is a major opportunity to gain a seat at the table and create a substantial shift as well.” – Anders Rodenberg, CEO of Denominator
Lastly, the panel delved into how leveraging data-driven insights can transform supply chain management, alongside the impact of rising AI technologies on energy consumption.
Big thanks to our fellow panelists for the insightful and engaging conversation, to SustainableIT, for the invitation and recognition, and to Denominator’s great employees for making this possible.
